I remember what my lecturer said to the class back then;
"We often expected to play the role of the heroes. We took other people's problems as ours. We blame ourselves for their failures and unhappiness. We take their expectations and dreams as our responsibilities. And that's when you burnt out, losing yourselves in between.
Being an adult means being able to differ; either you are in trouble, or you are surrounded by other people's troubles.
People will expect you to take action and do something about it; sorting their problems for them. But, you don't have to."
